Which DeLorean Biopic Will You See?

Alex Holmes (House Of Saddam) has been hired to direct a biopic of car designer John DeLorean (pictured) says Variety.

The story follows how the auto industry maverick's glamorous life came crashing down when he was caught in an FBI drug trafficking sting, only to be acquitted on grounds of entrapment.

Holmes developed the script with co-writer Rob Warr. that's being billed as a tragic crime thriller. Various sources, like the book "The Grand Delusion:", were used--with DeLorean's son Zachary will work closely with the filmmakers to give an accurate account of the man's life.

"As a kid, John DeLorean seemed an almost mythic figure to me. His dreams brought him head to head with both the British and American establishment, and they destroyed him," Holmes said...

Another DeLorean project, from David Permut, has not moved forward with any director attached.

Brett Rartner is also supposedly planning a DeLorean film as well -- with Robert Evans producing and James Toback writing the script

3 films...Sheesh!!
