A trio of sequels at different stages of development--making news:
*Making the rounds to promote this weekend's release of The Informant! Matt Damon told the folks @ Collider he and director Paul Greengrass will be meeting about a fourth Jason Bourne film within the next few weeks.
"Paul finished cutting Green Zone except for some effects. It's coming out in March. He hasn't had a break literally since he did The Bourne Supremacy”- which is six years ago now. So he was like I need to take a break...so he's been on vacation for about three weeks and he's going to take a few more and then he said he'd come to New York and we'd sit down and we'd talk seriously about it."
Damon confirmed he hasn't read any script drafts yet, also adding - "We are really serious about trying to get the story and the script right because the only thing more disappointing than not having another one of these movies is, for us or for movie fans... would be to make one that isn't good. Because everyone would say, "they should have quit after three. And we'd feel that way too."
The earliest filming could begin late next year for a Summer 2011 release.
*Bloody Disgusting reports that plans are underway to make a Resident Evil prequel-Tentatively titled "Resident Evil Begins", the story essentially sounds like a remake (rather than a rebooting) of the first film with a special military unit fighting a powerful, out-of-control supercomputer and hundreds of scientists who have mutated into flesh-eating creatures after a laboratory accident.
The project would not begin production until after the release of "Resident Evil: Afterlife", the 3-D fourth film in the current series due for release late next Summer
*Moviehole says that that the Point Break sequel Point Break Indo is dead...for now...
