Suits at both Warner Bros.. and Mattel Inc. have decided to go their separate ways on the live-action "Masters of the Universe" film adaptation reports Variety.
The toy Co. and the studio did not agree on the direction of the project and made a mutual decision to let the option lapse this month.
Mattel will now take back the property and set it up elsewhere, John Stevenson is expected to remain on the project as director.
The toy line and toon was adapted for the big screen once before in 1987 and tanked...
Probably a good move to let things go here... Wish they would drop the notion of a 2nd MOTU pic altogether.
