IGN and Screen are reporting on stories that has John Travolta signing on for two films.
First, he will voice Gummybear (aka. Gummibar), a multi-lingual digital
character that has generated 3.6+ billion downloads and become an
established global brand, in a $30 million CG animated feature film
Similar to the 'Crazy Frog', the character
is known for performing the Gummy bear-related series of songs on
various albums with the help of content partners like EMI, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment
George Gallo ("Bad Boys")
penned the script in which Gummy and his friends - a vegetarian vampire
bat, a cat and a chameleon -fighting to save an alien planet from
destruction
The 3D film will be produced by Oscar Generale ("Casino Jack"),Jonathan Vanger ("Upside Down") and the UK Spice Factory's ("The Merchant of Venice"). Animation houses in Montreal, China and Korea are talking with directors.
Production is slated to begin on September 29th.
John will reunite with his Savages co-star Salma Hayek for the drama A Three Dog Life.
Based on the best-selling memior by Abigail Thomas the story follows a woman (Hayek) whose husband, (Travolta),
gets hit by a car, his brain is shattered and he has no memory of his
past life. Subject to hallucinations, rage and terror, he is forced to
live in an isolated institution to control the side effects of his
near-death accident. In order to be close to her husband, She reinvents her life and moves from New York City to the small country
town, with her new family of three dogs.
The adapted script will be written and directed by Nick Guthe (Mini's First Time)
J. Todd Harris Guthe, and Clark Peterson will produce the film
