Universal Pictures is turning the late author Robert Jordan's best-selling fantasy series The Wheel of Time into a film-according to Variety.The books feature many characters, chief among them Rand al'Thor, the latest incarnation of a force for good called "The Dragon."
Rand is born to fight an evil character called Shai'tan.
It is hoped that a franchise will begin here--with the first book in the series "The Eye of the World"
There are more than ten books in the collection.
