Lone Scherfig (An Education) is in negotiations to helm the romantic comedy "One Day" says The Hollywood Reporter.Based on author David Nicholls' book, the story revolves around Dexter and Emma, who meet for the first time during their graduation in 1988 and proceed to meet one day a year for the next 20 years.
Like When Harry Met Sally/Same Time, Next Year the story tracks their lives and loves until they realize they were meant for each other.
Nicholls will adapt the script himself. Nina Jacobson is producing the pic.
