Charles Shyer--who directed the poorly recieved Alfie renake is set to helm the $20 million female buddy comedy "BFF" says The Hollywood Reporter.
The story follows childhood best friends who reunite years later in Manhattan and discover that one has become successful while the other remains stalled in their small hometown.
The script was originally written by Vanessa Parise and Robin Dunne and is now being rewritten by Ellen Greenberg
Matt Williams and Judd Payne Chris Cowles Chris Fenton and Shyer will produce. Shooting kicks off in the spring.
Shyer has nixed track record, Even with the fine 90's Father of the Bride films he's got I Love Trouble on his resume as well
