Here After Hoover

Clint Eastwood will direct the biopic "Hoover" according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film will follow the career of J. Edgar Hoover from his founding of the FBI in 1935 where he remained as director until his death in 1972. It's expected to be a warts-and-all look at the man from his success efforts in the gangland wars of the 30's, his paranoid concern about "subversives", his links with the Mafia and Freemasons, rumors of him being a deeply repressed gay man, and the often dirty and illegal tactics he sanctioned to bring down people and organizations he considered threats.

Oscar-winning writer Dustin Lance Black ("Milk") will pen this script

Brian Grazer will produce the film that should start shooting around the end of the year for a late next year release.

Eastwood is currently in post-production on "Hereafter" which hits theaters in the Fall.
