Juan Jose Campanella's .2009 original followed a retired legal counselor who writes a novel hoping to find closure for one of his past unresolved homicide cases and for his unreciprocated love with his superior - both of which still haunt him decades later. Ricardo Darin starred as the lead in the intelligent thriller which jumped between events in 1974 and 1999 along with making good use of real life political corruption as a backdrop.
Billy Ray ("Shattered Glass," "Breach") is writing the adapted screenplay and and plans on directing the as well which will probably posit the action to the United States--most likely Washington DC.
