From The Ice To The Mound

Actor Jay Baruchel and his writing partner Jesse Chabot. will co-script the sports comedy "Baseballissimo" reports Variety.

Based on Dave Bidini's 2005 non-fiction book, the story charts the author's family adventures in Nettuno, a city in Italy where American G.I.s introduced baseball in 1944.

Rush frontman Geddy Lee won the rights to the the book last year. David Miller and Bidini will produce the pic.

Baruchel  also co-wrote the hockey comedy Goon which just premiered in Toronto at TIFF
