Will Folks Pay To See Tower VOD?

Brett Ratner's November 4th comedy Tower Heist, starring Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy, will be made available on-demand just three weeks after its theatrical debut.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Universal Pictures will make the film available to 500,000 of its parent company Comcast digital cable subscribers in two markets - Atlanta and Portland. The price to watch the film at home won't come cheap at a whopper of - $59.99.

The idea is being seen as an experiment with Universal watching whether box office receipts fall off in those cities as compared with cities of similar size

The move is already coming under fire as theater chain Cinemark says it will boycott the film if plans move forward.

For the record I WOULD NOT pay that price for ANY film even it was a film I considered MUST see
