Ken Jeong is set to re-team with his Transformers: Dark of the Moon director Michael Bay's for his long-gestating--low-budget dark comedy, "Pain and Gain" says THR.

Based on a true story, the action follows a group of bodybuilders (led by Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson) who engaged in a campaign of kidnapping, extortion and murder in Florida. The not so bright group kidnapped Miami businessman Marc Schiller (Tony Shalhoub), tortured him and left him for dead. He survived and to get even he hired hired a private investigator (Ed Harris) to track them down.

Character deets are being kept quiet, but we do know that Jeong will play a character named Johnny Wu.

Israeli supermodel Bar Paly will play Sabina Petrescu, an illegal immigrant and former beauty queen who dreams of becoming the next Marilyn Monroe. Character actor Tony Plana will play Capt. Al Lopez of the Miami Police Dept., who begins to look into the kidnapping. "Bridesmaids" scene stealer and Aussie actress Rebel Wilson plays a character that will find herself in jail for her participation in the plot. Rob Corddry Anthony Mackie and John Turturro also star.

Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely ("Captain America: The First Avenger") wrote the script. Con Air writer Scott Rosenberg is polishing the script as reported by Heat Vision Rosenberg infamously wrote the Animal Crackers scene found in Bay’s "Armageddon ".
