Farrell And Hopkins Seek "Solace"

Colin Farrell is in final talks to star in the long-gestating supernatural thriller "Solace" says Deadline.

Farrell would play an FBI detective who seeks the help of a retired and reclusive doctor (Anthony Hopkins) to try and solve a series of grisly murders. The doctor was a genius at solving murders until his daughter died tragically. Desperate, the detective presses the doctor to come out of retirement for one more case.

Written by Sean Bailey and Ted Griffin with revisions by James Vanderbilt. and Peter Morgan-- with Afonso Poyart ("Two Rabbits") attached to direct.

The idea originated at New Line Cinema where at one point it was to be turned into a sequel to David Fincher's "Se7en".
