Santoro "Got A Gun"

Rodrigo Santoro has joined the cast of "We Need to Talk About Kevin" director Lynne Ramsay's new western "Jane Got A Gun" says Deadline.

The story centers on a woman (Natalie Portman) who must defend her farm when her outlaw husband returns home after a gunfight at death's door. With his gang coming to kill them, she seeks the help of an ex-lover (Michael Fassbender ) to defend themselves.

Santoro will play a character named Fitchum.

Joel Edgerton will play John Bishop, the leader of the gang of villains.

Brian Duffield wrote the script which forced a bidding war at the Cannes Film Festival and also made last year's annual Black List of best unproduced screenplays.

Portman, Scott Steindorff, Terry Dougas and Chris Coen are producing.
