Chastain Sets Sights On "Crimson Peak"

Heat Vision reports that Oscar-nominee Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) is in “final negotiations” to join the gothic haunted house pic Crimson Peak.


Guillermo del Toro and Lucinda Coxon  (The Heart of Me, The Eternal Not).are rewriting the original script by del Toro and Matthew Robbins that is described as a classic ghost story with a modern twist. It will center on a woman who suspects her husband is hiding something

The film is set at the turn of the century and has been described by del Toro who will also direct--as "a ghost story and gothic romance" that begins as a love story before taking a much darker turn.
Emma Stone (The Amazing Spider-Man 2) Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek Into Darkness) and del Toro's Pacific Rim star Charlie Hunnam will co-star.

Production is set to begin in February of next year.

Chastain starred in the GdT-produced horror pic Mama and remains attached to play Jane in director DvidaYates  upcoming live action Tarzan film opposite Alexander Skarsgård as well.
