The story focuses on legendary lawman and Texas Ranger Frank Hamer, who was coaxed by a consortium of banks to assemble a posse and end the reign of Great Depression bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde in the 1930s.
John Lee Hancock will direct the film using a script by John Fusco.
Casey Silver is producing the film.
Production hopes to begin by the first quarter of 2014.
