"Now You See Me" Sequel On The Way

Lionsgate has confirmed to THR that a sequel to their minor sleeper hit of this past Summer, the magician heist caper movie "Now You See Me".


Costing just $75 million to produce, the film has made $115 million domestic and a further $120 million in overseas markets (with several key territories still left for the film to open in).

The film was paid for through a "unique international infrastructure of output deals" which has allowed it to be a profitable film for the company.

Louis Leterrier (Clash of the Titans remake) directed the first film that centers on a FBI unit locked in a game of cat and mouse against a super-team of the world's greatest illusionists, who pull off a series of bank heists during their performances.

Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer told analysts today that production on the sequel is penciled in for 2014, which seemed to suggest tat a screenwriter is already attached.
