Paxton Joins Jake In “Nightcrawler"

Bill Paxton is joining the crime thriller “Nightcrawler” says Variety.

The film follows a young man (Jake Gyllenhaal) drawn into the world of Los Angeles freelance crime reporting.

Rene Russo will co-star.

Screenwriter Dan Gilroy (Real Steel) will make his film directorial debut on the noir film based on his own script.

The writer-director's brother, Tony Gilroy (The Bourne Legacy), is producing with Gyllenhaal, Jennifer Fox, Michel Litvak, and David Lancaster.

Gary Michael Walters is exec producing.

Production starts in October.
