Vera Farmiga Joins "Prima" And "Facing The Wind"

Psycho prequel TV series Bates Motel star Vera Farmiga is set to join the ballet comedy "Prima" says Screen


Farmiga plays a mother who will stop at nothing to make sure her 13 year-old daughter's ballet dancing dream of playing Sleeping Beauty comes true.

Peter Sarsgaard will play a 'devil in dance-shoes' instructor.

Musical theater director Evan Greenberg will call action on the project using a script that he wrote.

 Daniel Dubiecki (Juno, Up in the Air) and Lara Alameddine will produce the pic. 

Production is slated to get underway this summer.

Deadline says that Farmiga has also joined Docu filmmaker Joe Berlinger's narrative true crime drama "Facing the Wind".

The story is based on author Julie Salamon's non-fiction book about Bob Rowe (Alessandro Nivola), a man who spiraled from model husband to murdering his first wife (Farmiga) and then tries to redeem himself.

Evan Rachel Wood, Rita Wilson and Jennifer Beals also star.

Richard Stratton wrote the adapted screenplay.

Berlinger will produce with Elizabeth Fowler.
