As quickly as he said them, actor Gary Oldman is backing away from his earlier comments hinting that the sequel to The Dark Knight goes into production next year.
In an interview with iF Magazine a few hours later, Oldman was asked about what he had said and he responded "Someone asked me [about the third Bat film] and I said, ‘I don’t know, next year? Two years away? It could be three years away.'"
Oldman clearly wasn't expecting the reaction that his statement caused--If the first statement is the more accurate one--then it's the first clear sign that Christopher Nolan will be back in the big chair....
Bat writer David Goyer offered up his take on the situation when he spoke to MTV Splash Page at Comic-Con 2009 this weekend.
"Right now, Chris is involved in filming 'Inception' and when he finishes that, he will turn his studious gaze back to the Bat universe and we'll see," he said.
