Marshall Law

Brad Pitt is the top choice while Ryan Reynolds gets the call if Pitt doesn't star in the film remake of classic western series Gunsmoke according to The LA Times.

Tied with Law & Order as the longest running prime time drama in U.S. television history, the series was set in Dodge City, Kansas during the settlement of the American West. The show aired from 1955 to 1975.

In the film adaptation, written Gregory Poirier ("National Treasure: Book of Secrets") Pitt or Reynolds (or someone else) would play the role of Matt Dillon made famous by James Arness for twenty years.

Pitt's turn in the western “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford” makes him my pick over Reynolds--who could play the part for sure-- already has Green Lantern and Deadpool on his plate
