Mary J Blige has agreed to play Nina Simone in a biopic of the legendary singer called "Nina" sayd Reuters. The story will focus on Simone's relationship later in life with her assistant Clifton Henderson played David Oyelowo ( The Last King of Scotland).
No word yet on how much of her work as both a musician and an avid civil right activist will be incorporated.
Cynthia Mort (The Brave One) has written the script and will also direct the $10 million project which will begin shooting in France in September.
