Bond Eyes Cruz For Leading Lady In #24

The Daily Mail claims that Oscar winner Penelope Cruz is up for the female lead in "Bond 24".

If a deal's made then Cruz would be the oldest Bond girl yet (she turns 40 next year), succeeding Honor Blackman who was 39 when she portrayed Pussy Galore in 1962.s Goldfinger.

The source claims: "The producers have tried to get Penelope before, but she has never been available because of other commitments. The discussions have been going on for some time and they are working out the contract details now."

Cruz is an interesting choice, since  "Skyfall" had her husband Javier Bardem star as the villain,

Sam Mendes is likely to return to the big chair to call action since the James Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson are willing to wait for the helmer to complete work on his UK and Broadway release of the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Musical before starting the next pic

John Logan is back to write the next one.
