MacDonald Steers The "Last Train to Memphis"

Kevin MacDonald ("The Last King of Scotland," "State of Play") will direct the Elvis Presley biopic "Last Train to Memphis" says Variety.


Based upon author Peter Guralnick's book  the film will chart Presley's early years and his transformation from a high school kid to an overnight sensation credited with changing the face of music.

John Fusco will be writing the adapted script.

The casting process to find someone to play the iconic singer will be unique. The website Young Elvis Casting has launched and allows actors to submit audition tapes for the role. All tapes have to include the actor singing six to eight bars of any Presley song.
