Daniels Nabs Alex Pettyfer To Pay Gay Action Hero

Director Lee Daniels is coming off the critical and commercial success of the star packed biopic The Butler now has plans to shake up the action genre for an upcoming film.

Daniels tells Out.com that he's signed Alex Pettyfer ("Magic Mike," "I Am Number Four" to play "one-half of a gay interracial action hero couple".

Daniels calls it a "gay 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith,' but the two good-looking guys are the action heroes." but- "we don't find out they're gay until the end of the movie."

Asked about casting, Daniels says: "Alex Pettyfer is in it, [but] I have to find the right black guy opposite him. He's so hot, isn't he? So hot. And so aware of his hotness in a way that's so…I love him to death."

Problems financing? Nope: "I don't think I'm going to have a problem now. I made a $100 million for The Butler. I'm in a rare group. So this is something I feel good about."
