THR reports that Ryan Gosling may direct and star in a biopic about famed director and choreographer Busby Berkeley.
Warner Bros has optioned the film rights to author Jeffrey Spivak's book Buzz: The Life and Art of Busby Berkeley which will be the basis for the script. The studio will now look for a writer to pen the adapted script.
Berkeley worked during the golden age of
Hollywood--doing such pics as 1933′s “42nd Street” and “She Had to Say Yes.”
Gosling would produce the film with Marc Platt--the pair previously worked together on the pic “Drive.”
Gosling recently wrapped production on his directorial debut “How to Catch a Monster”
