Gary Ross has been hired to rewrite the Spider-Man 4 script, says Variety.Ross marks the third scribe to take a crack at the sequel's screenplay...
James Vanderbilt (Zodiac) and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire were there first.
Story details are still being kept under wraps.
Ross wrote (and directed) both Seabiscuit and Pleasantville, with Spidey himself Tobey Maguire.
Ross is talented... Spider-Man had four different people work on the story and screenplay..and that turned out to be the best film in the series so far...A little curious why this script is such a tough nut to write--But I'm not worried yet....
The comic book flick will go into production early next year for release May 2011
