The story follows a man who is given a chance to relive the worst day of his life in exchange for seven years off his life expectancy.
Caruso will also oversee a new screenplay draft by Dan McDermott
Will Smith has been eyed to star in the film but has not committed to do it yet.
McDermott, John Davis and Jennifer Klein will produce the picture.
