Chris Rock made Death At A Funeral--based upon a British pic--with Martin Lawrence and Kevin Hart and now he's making another flick this time using France as a springboard says Variety.

Rock is taking The First Star (or La première étoile) and will write the remake's screenplay and produce as well.

The film is a comedy with a broad social point, and will focus on a black family who leave their working-class hood to take to the ski slopes. That's considered a social faux pas in the stuffy resort, where comedy then ensues.

This is Rock's 3rd foreign redo. The 2007 film "I Think I Love My Wife" was a remake of 1972's "Chloe in the Afternoon".

No schedule or cast has been announced for Star as yet.
