“ParaNorman” to Come from “Coraline” Team

LAIKA and Focus Features collaborated for 2009’s stop-motion flick Coraline. Now the two are again working together for ParaNorman, set for release in the States on August 17, 2012.

The film, another stop-motion flick, looks to cash in on the zombie craze by centering on – what else? – zombies attacking a small town. Oscar nominees Casey Affleck and Anna Kendrick and Emmy winner Elaine Stritch are just a few of the big names currently attached to lend their voices to the film.

The Hollywood Reporter relays that Sam Fell and Chris Butler look to direct the film. Fell directed forgettable cartoon fare like Flushed Away, but Butler supervised storyboarding for Coraline.
