Lowery Brings "The Yellow Birds" To The Screen

"Ain't Them Bodies Saints" filmmaker David Lowery will write and direct the war drama "The Yellow Birds" Deadline.

Based upon author Kevin Powers' novel, the story recalls the experiences of a young American solider during the Iraq War, and what happens following the death of his friend in the Nineveh province in 2004.

Jeffrey Sharp and Jim Kohlberg will produce the pic.
