Marvel Matters

Future Marvel Movie News Is Coming Soon...

Producer Bryan Singer tells IGN UK says he's open to the idea of Wolverine making an appearance down the line should there be a sequel to June 3rd's X-Men First Class.

I think there would definitely be room. I think it would be a very exciting thing. This universe has to establish itself first, but that would be a very interesting and fun thing” he says.

The comments contradict those from producer Lauren Shuler Donner that X-Men 4 following the events of "X-Men: The Last Stand" was the next X-project.

Every one's waiting to see the returns on 'First Class'. Should it do as well or better than current series box-office high mark 'Last Stand' ($100M U.S. opening, $459M worldwide). X-4 will be nothing more than a distant thought with FC 2 taking its slot....

Meantime...

Marvel Films’ co-chief Kevin Feige says his company will officially announce its future plans at the end of this Summer reports The Playlist.--Once The Avengers hits next May

Feige has already been talking about spin-off films centering on Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson in  "Iron Man 2" ), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), and  S.H.I.E.L.D..

There’s no definitive plans, but we have started talking and talking with Scarlett about what a Widow movie could be. Internally we’ve also started thinking what a ‘Hawkeye’ movie could be, how we could continue to explore the organization S.H.I.E.L.D." led by Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury

He adds "It all goes back to the comics. Sometimes the answer is—when looking at a certain run of issues— ‘no way’ and sometimes the answer is ‘maybe, let’s continue to explore it’ and certainly with Hawkeye and Black Widow those are two that we’re exploring.”--possibilities like “Doctor Strange,” Black Panther and Ant-Man.

As they look ahead to the future film slate they had also better find a way to hold on to their scripts....
