The story sees a former CIA spy-turned-assassin codenamed 'The Gray Man' who finds himself on the run through Europe as mysterious forces try to erase him. He also tries to save the lives of the daughters who don't know he exists.
James Gray will call action from an adapted script by Adam Cozad
Navid McIlhargey will produce the film.
Pitt's name has been mentioned as a possibl lead since last January according Deadline New York
If Pitt signs on, he would finish World War Z in late fall and then The Gray Man starts production in January or February.
