Talking with CelebStoner magazine via THR, Tommy Chong said the story will follow the pair as they head towards a festival called Burning Joint.
They 're fleshing out the script with an eye at keeping costs down.
Production hopes to begin this summer. This would mark the first live-action Cheech and Chong film since 1983's "Still Smokin".
