Damien Chazelle, who wrote Grand Piano and wrote and directed the Sundance Film Festival favorite Whiplash is poised to take on the youth-oriented musical "‘La La Land" The Los Angeles Times
reports.
The California-set romantic musical follows an aspiring
actress and jazz musician who fall in love. Their relationship is
soon tested by the high-stress environment of the city's arts and
entertainment community.
No cast is set yet but various studios are reportedly
interested in both financing and distributing the project.
Production will
take place in Los Angeles.
