Winger, Others Set For "Boychoir"

Debra Winger, Eddie IzzardJosh Lucas and Kevin McHale are joining the cast of “The Red Violin” director François Girard's drama Boychoir says THR


Set in present day New England, “Boychoir” follows a troubled 12-year-old boy (Garrett Wareing), who is enrolled in a boychoir school modeled after the real-life American Boychoir School in Princeton, N.J. He’s pitted against a demanding choir master, played by Dustin Hoffman, with Kathy Bates playing the school headmistress and Winger, a school principal.

 Joe West and River Alexander are set to play the film’s other prominent student singers.

The original screenplay was written by Source Code scribe Ben Ripley

Judy Cairo, Carol Baum and Jane Goldenring will produce.

Eric Brenner, Ripley and Michael A. Simpson will executive produce the pic
