Hathaway Takes Witherspoon's Job For "The Intern"

THR reports that Anne Hathaway is in talks to replace Reese Witherspoon in the dramaedy "The Intern".

Nancy Meyers wrote the script and will direct the story which centers on the owner of a successful fashion website (Hathaway) who bonds with the elderly intern (Robert De Niro) her company has hired.

Witherspoon left the project last month due to scheduling issues. Hathaway did a table read with De Niro and Meyers last week that went well.

Scott Rudin is producing the film

The project was originally set up at Paramount Pictures with Tina Fey attached to star. Now it has become a fairly pricy $30 million dollar independently financed film
