Pals Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are re--teaming for a biopic about notorious Boston mobster James "Whitey" Bulger says THR.
Bulger was the brutal boss of the Winter Hill Gang in Boston, at the same time he was an FBI informant on the side. He fled New England in 1994 and spent the next sixteen years hiding in Santa Monica until his arrest this past June.
Affleck will direct and Damon will star as Bulger in the film using a screenplay by Terence Winter.
The angle of the film is still being hammered out
Damon tells GQ Magazine that “If it's a straight biopic, we'll do it over a period of time. But it's always a question of what part of the story do you tell, and biopics are always a little cumbersome"
