Pitt Takes 12 Years A Slave Role

Brad Pitt will not only produce but will also be taking a role in "Hunger" and "Shame" director Steve McQueen's"Twelve Years A Slave" says Screen Daily (via The Playlist)

Set in the mid-19th century, the film tells the true story of New Yorker Solomon Northup
(Chiwetel Ejiofor) who was kidnapped and shipped off into forced labor. Eventually he was rescued from a Louisiana cotton plantation in 1853.

McQueen and John Ridley (”Bobby,” “Three Kings”) wrote the script

It's unknown what role Pitt will play in the pic.

Michael Fassbender, the lead star in McQueen's two previous films, also stars.

Production is slated to begin next year.»
