RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman (1967-2014)

Oscar winning actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman was found dead inside his New York City apartment earlier today, due to an apparent drug overdose. He was 46.

 He won his best actor Academy Award for the 2005 film Capote, and had also received nominations for Doubt, The Master, and Charlie Wilson's War .

Hoffman was one of the most celebrated actors of his generation; doing great work in The Big Lebowski, Almost Famous Red. The Talented Mr. Ripley Magnolia and State and Main With the exception of There Will Be Blood he appears in all of Paul Thomas Anderson's films.

He also appeared in supporting roles in such mainstream, fare as Red Dragon, Cold Mountain and  Mission: Impossible III He was completing work on The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 at the time of his passing.
