Who Should Direct New Twilight Zone Film?

Both Appian Way and Warner Bros. want to make another big screen version of the TV classic Twilight Zone...the 1983 film was released with mixed results

But who should direct it? Variety reports the studio has a list of possible contenders that include heavy hitters Christopher Nolan and Michael Bay; While Alfonso Cuarón (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban), Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) and David Yates (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2), are also in the mix

But in the case of Yates the trade indicates that "his prospects have waned."

Warners owns the rights to the episodes that were written by creator Rod Serling, which is quite a large number of them,-and are hoping to make one feature-length movie based on one or several of these stories.

At one point in 2008 Rand Ravich ("The Astronaut's Wife") was hired to write the script, and then last fall relative newbie Jason Rothenberg was brought on board...

The trade points out, the disparate styles of all of the listed directors certainly suggests the studio suits don't exactly know which path the reboot would take beyond getting that big name director.

Since actor Leonardo DiCaprio is helping to produce the film via Appian, and he starred in the mind bender Inception for Nolan--he seems the obvious choice (and would be my pick if I had the power to make it happen).

Stay Tuned...
