Based on the novel by author Garth Stein, the story follows a family dog named Enzo who evaluates his life through the lessons learned by his human owner, professional race-car driver Denny Swift.
Mark Bomback ("Rise of the Planet of the Apes," "The Wolverine") wrote the most recent draft of the adapted script.
Patrick Dempsey and Neal Moritz will produce the pic.
