Stone & Gosling May Reside In "La La Land"

Deadline  reports that Emma Stone is in talks to play the female lead in the forthcoming movie musical, La La Land.

The story follows an aspiring actress named Mia (Stone) and a cocky, charismatic jazz pianist Sebastian, who fall in love in Los Angeles. They soon discover that balancing love and art in such a cutthroat climate isn't easy.

Miles Teller was originally pegged to be the male lead, but since he's left the project--Ryan Gosling and Eddie Redmayne are rumored to be circling the role. Stone would step in for Emma Watson who was in talks for the female lead. This could be the long awaited (by me anyway) reunion of Ryan and Emma who shared excellent screen chemistry in "Crazy, Stupid, Love" and "Gangster Squad" .

Whiplash writer-director Damien Chazelle pulls double duty here as well. Chazelle is also expected to reteam with Whiplash composer Justin Hurwitz for La La Land.
