Reynolds' Rap

Actor Ryan Reynolds is headed back in time 20 years for his next project...

Tatiana Siegel and Michael Fleming of Variety:

Ryan Reynolds has signed on to star opposite Jesse Eisenberg [and Kristen Stewart] in Miramax Films' "Adventureland."

The film, which marks helmer Greg Mottola's follow-up to "Superbad," is set in summer 1987 and centers on an uptight recent college grad who is forced to take a degrading minimum-wage job at the local amusement park after he realizes he can't afford his dream European tour. Reynolds will play Connell, an aspiring rock star and the icon of cool to all the kids working at the park.

Mottola penned the screenplay.

Shooting is scheduled to begin next month in Pittsburgh.

This Is That's Ted Hope and Anne Carey are producing alongside Sidney Kimmel Entertainment's Sidney Kimmel. William Horberg and Bruce Toll are exec producing.
Reynolds, whose credits include "The Amityville Horror," most recently appeared in Joe Carnahan's "Smokin' Aces." He next stars in "Definitely, Maybe."

Reynolds, who burst on the scene in the very underated, short-lived TV sit-com Two Guys And A Girl has come into his own--proving he can apear in many genre of a movie...This new comedic role seems like a good fit.

Given the success of Superbad, Mottola is a hot commodity. trying to prove he can have another hit.
