Meloni Leaps To Superman Reboot
Farmer Law and Order Special Victims Unit star Christopher Meloni has landed an undisclosed role in Zack Snyder's big budget reboot "Superman: Man of Steel" says THR Reports indicate that it is a pivotal role (Lex Luthor Perhaps? Perry White? Just guesses on my part folks)

RIP Peter Falk:(1927-2011)
I know he has been ill for quite some time and is not suffering any longer but this news still gives me pause thanks to childhood memories watching Mr Falk work with my late Mom--who introduced me to the man playing the rumpled detective
Falk received two Academy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor in 1960 and 1961 for Murder, Inc. and Pocketful of Miracles, and was an acclaimed stage actor, winning a Tony Award for 1972's The Prisoner of Second Avenue-but best known as the irascible Lieutenant Columbo, whose apparent absent-mindedness belied his cunning deductive skills and ease at outwitting even the most clever and devious of criminals. In all, he received four Emmy Awards and 10 nominations for the role, which he played from 1968 to a special 2003 episode of the series.
Falk also appeared on the big screen in two of close friend John Cassavetes' films, Husbands and the Oscar-nominated A Woman Under the Influence
Falk also played a Sam Spade-style detective in the comedy Murder By Death, and also starred in The Brink's Job , The Cheap Detective and The In-Laws
Falk continued acting in film, appearing in two highly notable roles in 1987: as the storybook-reading Grandfather in Rob Reiner's The Princess Bride, and an acclaimed turn as a slightly modified version of himself as a man who converses with angels in Wings of Desire.

Ryan Gosling and Nicolas Winding Refn, are talking up yet doing a fourth project together reports Twitchfilm.
Along with this Fall's Drive already collaborating on Logan's Run,and an NYC-set rom-com, Gosling looks to be teaming up again with Refn for the helmer's next pic Only God Forgives.
Clash of the Titans star Luke Evans had signed on for the lead role but had to drop out due to his commitments to "The Hobbit" films.
Gosling would play a man who runs a Thai boxing club in Bangkok which is a front for a drugs smuggling operation. Despite status in the underworld, his meeting with a retired cop sets him on a journey to find what's lacking in his life and he sets out to confront his mother.
The Bromantic couple talked to The Los Angeles Times about that the planned 'Logan' redo It won't be a straightforward remake of the 70's original...Instead it is gonna be whole new take exploring the premise… "We’re still in the stage of trying to figure out the rules of the road."
Gosling added that the film's producer Joel Silver and told them to take their time with it to make it good - "It doesn’t have to be ready at any point."
Moving on Refn has previously spoken about his desire to direct a Wonder Woman movie. Now wanting actress Christina Hendricks to play the role.

The film is a remake of Joe Ahearne’s 2001 British TV movie of the same name. McAvoy would play Simon, an arthouse employee who teams up with a gang of criminals to steal some valuable artwork. Although successful in their scheme, a blow to the head gives Simon amnesia and he is unable to remember where the art is hidden.Unable to trust him and suspecting foul play, Simon’s fellow conspirators hire a hypnotist to try and uncover the asset.

Rob Cohen is set to direct the revenge thriller "Bullet Run" says Variety.
Andrew Hilton wrote the script centering on the head of an elite private protection team and his ex-CIA wife attempting to avenge their daughter's murder by infiltrating Iran to bring the killer to justice. When the operation to extract their target goes awry, they must battle through 200 miles and 20,000 bullets while keeping alive the one man they want to kill.
Cohen is further developing the script and will direct the film after he's done with I, Alex Cross
Nicolas Chartier and Craig J. Flores will produce.
No studio is attached to distribute the film yet

Courtney will play Sawyer in the new adaptation of Mark Twain's classic period story that follows the journey of "a white boy who runs off with an older black man".

Disney is prepared for Cars 2 to post a lower opening than usual for a Pixar title, but expects the 3D toon to stay on the race course for weeks to come. Tracking suggests the family film will open in the $50 million to $55 million range, while the first Cars opened to $60.1 million in June 2006. Some box office observers believe Cars 2 could do more, however. Either way, the sequel is all but assured of coming in No. 1 for the frame.
Not even Pixar — boasting one of Hollywood’s most illustrious winning streaks — is immune to the risks involved with creating a new franchise, and to the general downturn in moviegoing. A saving grace is the strong multiple enjoyed by animated films. Pixar’s Ratatouille was maligned when it opened to $47 million domestically, but went on to cume $206.4 million.
Pixar CEO John Lasseter returned to the director’s chair for the first time since Cars to direct the sequel, which is drawing mixed reviews, unusual for a Pixar title. The toon cost $200 million to make, meaning it will have to do robust business worldwide. The first Cars, released in June 2006, cumed $244.1 million domestically and $217.9 million internationally.
Cars 2 has the potential to do bigger business overseas than its predecessor for several reasons. The film is set this time not in rural America, but in London, Paris and Tokyo, where Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) and Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) travel to compete in the World Grand Prix.
Mater, however, gets swept up in an international espionage case and meets a new set of friends and enemies, including the James Bond-like Finn McMissile (Michael Caine), Holley Shiftwell (Emily Mortimer) and Francesco Bernoulli (John Turturro).
Also, foreign audiences have become more and more familiar with the franchise because of Cars merchandise, a billion-dollar business for Disney and Pixar. And Cars 2 also should benefit from the 3D boom in key foreign markets including Russia, Brazil and Mexico, where the toon debuts this weekend.
In the U.S., though, 3D is struggling, with the majority of moviegoers now opting to watch a film in 2D instead.
The other new entry of the weekend is R-rated Cameron Diaz comedy Bad Teacher, from Sony. Also starring Jason Segel and Justin Timberlake, Bad Teacher is expected to open in the range of R-rated comedy Bridesmaids, which debuted to $26.2 million.
Sony would be satisfied even if Bad Teacher opened lower than Bridesmaids, considering the raunchy comedy only cost $20 million to make.
Bad Teacher is tracking best among females aged 17 and 35, followed closely by males aged 17 to 35.
Sony is hopeful that Bad Teacher will come in No. 2 for the weekend and edge out Warner Bros. holdover Green Lantern, which enters its second weekend. The 3D superhero pic opened on the lower end of expectations last weekend, but has done solid midweek business, with a cume of $67.2 million through Wednesday.
There are a number of specialty films launching in limited runs on Friday, including A Better Life from filmmaker Chris Weitz (About a Boy, The Twilight Saga: New Moon). Summit Entertainment opens the film in four theaters in New York and Los Angeles, and is targeting the art house crowd. Summit believes the movie will be a draw for Hispanics, since the movie follows an illegal immigrant living in Los Angeles who struggles to keep his son away from gangs...

Some Sunday Shoes Never Change

Ren and his love interest (Julianne Hough) proceed to shake things up. Andie MacDowell plays Vi Moore, the wife of the reverend.

Julia Ormond Offered Lara In Man Of Steel

Leonard’s classic 1970's-set book has Cassidy playing a former radical turned romance novelist who tracks down her old partner in crime, a movie special effects man, for one last score. Their target: a wealthy alcoholic whom she blames for sending her to prison. Trouble is, she ain't the only one after him as both a suspended cop and a former Black Panther want to join in on the gig.
Matt Dillon, Brendan Fraser and Craig Robinson also star
Charles Matthau wrote the adapted screenplay and will call the shots.

Tse Helps Bring The Crow Back To Life

Alex Tse ("Watchmen") has been charged to write the screenplay for the remake of The Crow says The Hollywood Reporter.
Juan Carlos Fresnadillo will direct the film that follows Eric Draven (Bradley Cooper), who returns from the grave as The Crow and sets out to avenge his wife’s murder.
Edward R. Pressman, Jeff Most, Ryan Kavanaugh, Enrique López Lavigne and Belén Atienza will produce.
I unlike most liked Watchmen a heck of a lot--Tse makes a solid choice for this reboot

If she takes on the pic Stone will play feisty Elizabeth Bennet, who is distracted from her quest to eradicate the zombie menace by the arrival of the arrogant Mr. Darcy.
Anne Hathaway, Scarlett Johansson and Mia Wasikowska were all being considered for the role at one point.
