Don Winslow’s “Savages” Gets a Prequel

Oliver Stone will commence shooting a film based on Don Winslow’s Savages next month, but it’s just been revealed that the film will become something of a franchise.

Deadline Hollywood reports that Winslow (Pictured) will be writing a prequel to his highly popular book, resulting from a deal made by Simon & Schuster.

The ending of the novel apparently doesn’t leave much room for a sequel, but a spin-off that sets up events is still a possibility.

Shane Salerno came up with the idea for the prequel; he, alongside Winslow and Stone, adapted the screenplay for Savages.
