Julia Ormond Offered Lara In Man Of Steel

Julia Ormond has been offered the role of Lara, Kal-El's birth mother, in Zack Snyder's big budget reboot "Superman: Man of Steel" says Deadline.



Ormond would likely appear as Lara opposite Russell Crowe who is in talks to play Superman's father, Jor-El,

Snyder is said to have been considering several actresses for the part including Crowe's "Gladiator" co-star Connie Nielsen

Henry Cavill Amy Adams Kevin Costner Diane Lane Michael Shannon is Zod and Antje Traue is up for Faora--also star Harry Lennix was said to be circling a role too

David S. Goyer wrote the screenplay based on a story he concocted with Nolan

Charles Roven, Emma Thomas Deborah Snyder, and Christopher Nolan will be producers on the film.

Shooting on the film is presently scheduled to kick off on August 22nd and will run through into April next year for a late 2012 flight into theaters
