Two quick confirmations to report...The studio has officially announced that Chris Pine is gonna play James T. Kirk and Karl Urban is Dr, McCoy for the Star Trek reboot--meaning the entire bridge crew is now in place...
Sam Raimi, director of the first three Spider-Man films, told the press that behind-the-scenes meetings about the 4th flick in the series are on-going
Raimi, who was out promoting the new vampire horror flick 30 Days Of Night , which he produced states that fans can expect a fresh take on Spidey for the next film.
Raimi, who is not yet contracted to helm the next movie, says he isn't aware of any plans for a total franchise reboot, but that Sony Pictures has been meeting with different writers "to try and bring a fresh new story and approach" to the series.
"I've been in meetings with Avi Arad and Laura Ziskin, our producers, and [studio boss] Amy Pascal. Different writers have been coming in and spinning different tales of where Spider-Man could go from here."
When asked if he would come back to direct--Here's what he says:
"It would depend on a lot of things," he says. "But it would be great because I love Spider-Man! If we can find the right story... Whatever it is I'm sure it'll be a great story, because a lot of people are working really hard right now to make it really great story."
Script, and lets face it, salary are all considerations for Raimi to come to terms with when deciding what to do. Another factor, has to be, who will be wearing the the suit... Tobey Maguire, Jake Gyllenhaal, or someone else all together...
