Be-"League"-red?

Even as the strike drags on...entering its 3rd month, pre-production on much discussed Justice League of America film has been moving forward, with casting and design work proceeding as if the movie were going to meet its originally projected production start date of early 2008...

However, within the last week, stories have popped up casting doubt that the anticipated comic book hero team-up flick will happen at all.

Variety reported that production won't begin until the strike ends. now, the folks at the IESB website takes that one step further and quotes an insider hinting that the movie might be cancelled completely.

"Justice League is indeed in danger of not starting production on time and maybe even getting scrapped altogether," said the unnamed source.

The source further states that there are concerns about the script not being shoot-ready, and budgetary issues. But more importantly, there's talk that studio higher-ups have begun to question the timing of the film.

Another squawker informs the site that JLA's start date has been pushed back to the spring or summer.

Again it's kind of difficult to know what's really going on here....Things to consider--before the strike-no one talked about the script not being ready...nor did the flick's budget come up much...I guess the strike has the suits and bean counters at Warner Bros sweatin' a bit...
