Robert Luketic Set To Chart "Expendabelles"

Deadline reports that Legally Blonde director Robert Luketic has signed on to helm the all female actioner Expendabelles.


Former MMA fighter-turned-actress Gina Carano ("Haywire") and "" actress Sharni Vinson Katee Sackhoff ("Battlestar Galactica") are also set to star. Zoe Bell (Kill Bill, Death Proof) has had meetings about the film as well.

Several other prominent actresses affiliated with the action genre are already said to be in talks as well.

Among those female action stars on a wish list of potentials Linda Hamilton, Cynthia Rothrock, Sigourney Weaver, Carrie Ann Moss, Michelle Rodriguez, Uma Thurman, Zoe Saldana, Michelle Yeoh and Summer Glau.

"Legally Blonde" scribes Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith wrote the script for Millennium Films--home of the original Expendables film series

Adi Shankar ("The Grey," "Machine Gun Preacher") will produce the project.

This is not to be confused with another Untitled All Female Expendables Project in the works


Dutch Southern pens that gender switch riff of the star-studded action franchise. Southern previously wrote "Hoof Harrington's Greatest Hits" which made the 2010 Black List.
